Human Weapon - Muay Thai (Full)

Human Weapon was a weekly television show on The History Channel that premiered on July 20, 2007. The hosts, Jason Chambers and Bill Duff, travel across the world studying the unique martial arts, or styles of fighting, that have origins in the region. Each episode usually consists of a brief introduction regarding the featured martial art, including footage of established fighters sparring. The hosts will then travel to various locations, learning several strikes, blocks, or other techniques valuable to the particular art from various instructors and/or masters. Along the way, they learn about the origins and cultural history of each fighting style. To help the viewer understand the moves the hosts learn, each technique is visually broken down with a motion capture element. After practicing featured aspects of the art, the hosts typically assess the various skills and their effectiveness. At the end of each episode one of the hosts must fight a representative of the episode's fighting style. The show is similar to a later program called "Fight Quest". In August 2008, the History Channel cancelled the show :(

The 140 km stretch in between Loei and Wat Pa must be one of the top-5-best big bike roads in Thailand. KING CHULALONGKORN [ RAMA V ] 1868 -1910 Also known as Phra Chula Chomklao Chaoyuhua, and the eldest son of King Rama IV, he was born in Bangkok on September 20, 1853 and was crowned King on October 1, 1868, following the death of his father. The first few years of his reign were under a regency. King Chulalongkorn is perhaps the most revered of all the Chakri Kings--during his long reign of 42 years 23 days great advances were achieved for the country. The King actively pursued a policy of "modernizing" the country and had a number of Europeans in his service to oversee such projects as the building of the first railway in Thailand. He himself made two visits to Europe, one in 1897 and another in 1907, during which he became acquainted with most of the rulers of Europe. Bonds of friendship between himself and the various European royal families were formed which exist to the present day. Not only was he the first Thai king to travel abroad [ he made several visits to the Straits Settlements, the Malay States and the Dutch East Indies ] but he also sent his sons to study in Europe [ to school in England and later for military training to Denmark, Germany and Russia ]. He successfully managed to cultivate the idea of Siam as a buffer state between the colonial possessions of the European powers in South-East Asia. Tibetan Buddhism Mahamudra teaching. I was on a course this lama had in Norway in 1995. This was over three and a half year after i meet buddhism on a backpacker tour that should go to China, HongKong, Thailand, Indonesia, Australia and maybe to other places. The tour was going to ther countries instead because when we was in China I saw some pictures in my China travelbook from a place with name Tibet and I wanted to see some castles that I saw pictures of in the book. The castles was named temples. I had never heard about Tibet or buddhism this time. My friend did not wanted to travel to Tibet because he wanted to try to find work in Hong Kong for some months because he had heard that it was easy to find work there and earn more money to travel for and then we could travel a very long time. I wanted to see this castle before we go to Hong Kong and we did that and in Tibet we did a bus tour with other backpackers from Yak Hotel. Then we saw a lot of places in Tibet in a 14 day tour with bus. The other backpackers wanted to go to Nepal after Tibet and we changed plans and followed them to Kathmandu in Nepal instead of going to Hong Kong after China. And after we had been in Nepal in one month we travel to India instead of Hong Kong, Thailand, Indonesia and Australia. We was in India in over two months and Bangladesh in 3 weeks. In India we travel down to Calcutta first and from there to Bangladesh and back to India. On the way from Nepal to Calcutta we had to stop because ...

Forced labour was used in its construction. About 180000 Asian labourers and 60000 Allied prisoners of war (POWs) worked on the railway. Of these, around 90000 Asian labourers and 16000 Allied POWs died as a direct result of the project. The dead POWs included 6318 British personnel, 2815 Australians, 2490 Dutch, about 356 Americans and a smaller number of Canadians. A railway route between Thailand and Burma had been surveyed at the beginning of the 20th century, by the British government of Burma, but the proposed course of the line — through hilly jungle terrain divided by many rivers — was considered too difficult to complete. In 1942, Japanese forces invaded Burma from Thailand and seized it from British control. To maintain their forces in Burma, the Japanese had to bring supplies and troops to Burma by sea, through the Strait of Malacca and the Andaman Sea. This route was vulnerable to attack by Allied submarines, and a different means of transport was needed. The obvious alternative was a railway. The Japanese started the project in June 1942. They intended to connect Ban Pong with Thanbyuzayat, through the Three Pagodas Pass. Construction started at the Thai end on 22 June 1942 and in Burma at roughly ...

A dream come true. I've been wanting to travel the world since I was young. The idea of the unknown, the different, and the unexplored has always been an interest of mine. Travelling the world in 80 days was my opportunity to do just that; to push into some of the more daring adventures of our world, camera in hand. This video is a montage of my adventures over the past 3 months, and also a Thank You to everyone who supported me along the way. Thank you for the likes, comments and encouragement. This one goes out to all of you. 13 countries, 35 flights, and one amazing RTW experience that will stick with me forever. Phang Nga Bay Marine National Park was declared a protected Ramsar Site (no. 1185) of international ecological significance on 14 August, 2002. Phang Nga is a shallow bay with 42 islands, comprising shallow marine waters and intertidal forested wetlands, with at least 28 species of mangrove; seagrass beds and coral reefs are also present. At least 88 bird species, including the globally threatened Malaysian Plover (Charadrius peronii) and Asian Dowitcher (Limnodromus semipalmatus), can be found within the site, as well as 82 fish species, 18 reptiles, three amphibians, and 17 mammal species. Baby Born Onboard Flight KU411 Last October, I went with my mom to the Philippines to visit family and friends. We took the Kuwait Airways flight which left Bangkok at around noon. There were only a few passengers onboard that particular flight, mostly OFW (Overseas Filipino Workers) from Kuwait going back home for the 'All Souls Day'. My mom and I were both prepared to take a short nap, hoping that by the time the stewardess served food we would be refreshed. Just as soon as the plane took off, I noticed some commotion over at the front, just around 10 rows away from where we were seated. A cabin crew -- later we learned he was the purser -- seemed troubled. He went back and forth between the cockpit and the passenger. I sensed that something seriously wrong must be happening over there. Just minutes after the plane was steady and the 'fasten seatbelts' light went off, the captain announced for any physicians onboard. When I looked around and saw that no one did anything, I turned to my mom who was half asleep. She practiced nursing years ago before she switched to teaching kindergarten kids English. If there weren't any doctors onboard, then my mom could at least dig up the theories and skills from the rusty parts of her memory and put it to good use. My mom got up and went over to the passenger, informing the cabin crew that she was a nurse and asked if there is anything she could do to help. It turned out that a pregnant 23-year-old woman was in labor!! Four nurses ...

As a Fulbright grantee, I was awarded the chance to teach English as a foreign language in Thailand. I taught highschool students at Princess Chulabhorn's College Chiang Rai (PCC), a boarding school in northern Thailand. In January, I helped my department organize a three-day English camp for nearly 200 M2 (8th grade) students at PCC. The camp was a great success. In the end, I created this instructional video, provided on CD with logistical documents (materials lists, station descriptions, etc.) for use by next years native English teachers and Thai English teachers. This CD was presented to both PCC and the Fulbright Commission in Thailand, the Thailand-US Educational Foundation (TUSEF).
